Background

Wix asked us to co-develop a structured design system for Codux — their new visual IDE where components can be shaped visually right beside the code.

We grounded the system in real practice: designing an eCommerce template that forced every component behaviour, layout rule, and motion detail to be defined and tested. This real-world approach helped us refine how Codux mirrors visuals and code inside the builder.

We built a custom design system in Figma and translated it into a component-driven implementation using React, TypeScript, and SCSS, matching Codux’s token-based approach to layout, typography, and styling.

To demonstrate Codux’s real-time rendering model, we added subtle motion and transitions — powered by Framer Motion — highlighting how the platform streamlines the design-to-code workflow and elevates the handoff process.
