Business Development Manager
About COMET
COMET is an independent digital studio based in Budapest, focusing on strategic design and engineering.
Since 2017, we help companies plan, design, develop, launch and grow their products or brands. Regardless of the size of the organization.
We are passionate about the positive impact digitalization can bring to the world. And we can aid the process by helping businesses and people.
Representing a mix of cultures and disciplines we continue to explore, experiment and identify what’s possible in the digital space.
About the role
As a Business Development Manager at COMET, you’ll be right at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and relationships — spotting early signals, building trust with ambitious founders, and turning conversations into collaborations. This isn’t a typical sales role. You’ll shape how we grow as a studio, help decide who we work with, and push us into new territory. You’ll work side-by-side with our design and tech teams to make sure we’re not just building cool things, but building the right things — with the right people. If you’ve got a sharp instinct for opportunities and a taste for doing things differently, this one’s for you.
What You'll Do
- Spotting and reaching out to new potential clients (startups, innovation teams, founders, etc.).
- Handling inbound leads and helping shape proposals.
- Building long-term partnerships with companies we believe in.
- Working closely with our designers and engineers to bring our ideas to market.
- Doing a bit of market research, competitive analysis, and positioning — nothing too fancy, just smart.
- Representing COMET at events, meetups or just by being active in cool communities.
What You'll Bring
- Are genuinely interested in startups, design, and technology. You’re curious about how stuff gets built.
- Have some experience in business development, sales, or client work — but we’re also happy to talk if you’re just starting out and have the right attitude.
- Love talking to people and have strong communication skills (both in English and Hungarian).
- Feel comfortable working independently, but enjoy being part of a team.
- Are proactive, reliable, and not afraid to take initiative.
What we offer
- Competitive salary based on your expertise.
- In-Office, Hybrid, or fully remote work.
- Flexible working hours.
- Division-specific mentorship from industry experts.
- Conferences and training courses.
- All *Saturday working days* are days off.
- Team building trips and parties.
- Latest Macbook models and accessories.
- Top-notch tools, softwares, and technologies.
- Funky office space with Focal speakers and Denon turntable.
